Spine surgery done the “classic” way is traditionally done with an open approach, meaning that the surgical area being operated on is opened with a long incision to allow full view and access to the anatomy by the surgeon. In the past recent years, there have been advances in technology that have allowed spinal conditions to be treated with the minimally invasive spinal surgery (MISS) approach.Dr. Brusovanik Helps CBS4's Eliott Rodriguez Without Surgery 2

Dr. Herrera how are you feeling today? How was your pain level before the surgery?
I am feeling good. I have no pain whatsoever today. My pain ranged you know from shooting pains. It was excruciating and debilitating pain, but I can tell you that today I feel fantastic and I had no pain after the surgery. I have not taken a single pain pill after the surgery.

Wow, that is amazing and how many days after the surgery today?
Today is one week exactly postoperatively.

So you are planning to go back to work normally or you are already been working?
I went back to work on, I had the surgery Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock, and by Thursday morning I was back at work, with nothing you know too intense as far as the surgery or anything like that, but I was able to work completely function since last Thursday.

Well I am happy that you are not in any pain anymore and we will see you again for followup.
I am very happy and that I look forward to the follow up and you know thank you.
