Spine surgery done the “classic” way is traditionally done with an open approach, meaning that the surgical area being operated on is opened with a long incision to allow full view and access to the anatomy by the surgeon. In the past recent years, there have been advances in technology that have allowed spinal conditions to be treated with the minimally invasive spinal surgery (MISS) approach.Dr. Brusovanik Helps CBS4's Eliott Rodriguez Without Surgery 2

September 10, 2015

Mr. Henry Armbruster. We are here in November. You had surgery in January of this year. You had spine fusion. So, tell me how felt before your surgery of your lumbar spine?
Before I had the surgery in January of this year 2015, I had an accident at work where I slipped on a flight of stairs that resulted in back problems and shoulder issues and I suffered for 14 months. Of that 14 months, I underwent physiotherapy for approximately eight months, but discontinued. I had an epidural shot. I was on number of pain meds to know avail, nothing had any effect on me. I guess because my pain tolerant was so high and those things had no effect on me. I got some information concerning a United States doctor. Dr. Greogiy Brusovanik, and this was in November 2014. When I came to United States, I met with Dr. Brusovanik and his spine team and he went through the motion. He interviewed me extensively. I aligned what I have been experiencing and he is on a firm believer that they should not just rush in the surgery. At one point, I got the impression he was trying to talk me from doing the surgery; however, I am very normal today of him and his spine team. I returned to Bahamas that same month of November and in January I returned to have surgery and I was still experiencing my back problems, but corrected before the surgery. He said to me “if you are going to surgery, I am expecting you to get up within a day or two”. And so he held me to that. I ran in and I had surgery. He corrected my problem and I felt that as if I have been reborn. I did not have the pain that I was experiencing and with his guidance and his team at the office. I have been able to do something to help myself. I have been back and forth to United States for this year alone certainly about eight times or so with my followup visits and yes I have had some minor pains here and there, but nothing compare to what it used to be. I will encourage anyone who is listening this interview or see this interview to consider coming to Miami Back and Neck and see Dr. Brusovanik and his spine team here. Whatever your issues are, they will correct it. I think that I am a testament, I am returning to active duty as a police officer back home at Bahamas and I sometimes working normal 12-hour tall duty and couple with continued exercises and proper eating, rest, and doing the things that you know is right, you will on a road to full recovery by very end. I say I have ever up on the stairs ______. This is the place to come.
